one year has passed since the pilotwings’ first output « agorespace ». expectations went further in 2015 as they contributed to the rave-ish j-zbel project. the pair is now back on bfdm with another ode to rurality and old-fashioned analogue. including 4 tracks, « molitor 71 » goes deeper into retrofuturist nostalgia and bucolic mood. a1 31 septembre (on va tout niker) introduces full-on panflute melodies and uplifting korg exotica. as the trancy chicago dream fades out, a2 les invasions babar unveils its weird combo of electro beats and massive patrick cowley-esque synths. unplanned bass moves lead this jam while an undertaking voice calls for no less than « the greatest experience of your life ». things settle down on the nocturnal b1 congo libre. focus on breakbeats and sophisticated rhythms evokes trance beats, while sparkling synths emerge from everywhere. the ep ends up with a floating ambient piece called buruganda ouverture and designed for the listener to rediscover the meaning of his existence. molitor will give you faith in humanity and flutes again.

some more grittiness from the hard beach entertainement camp, introducing this time the one and only cuban house don toni moralez with a bold mix of unfussy, old school influences. *ny edit 1* plays the catchy 90s house vocals card while *time 2 hit da dope* pays tribute to the memphis hip-hop scene with its heavy 808 and cryptic loopy lyrics. finally, wrapping things up with a bang (and hitting 140+ bpm!) *antonio montana at a techno rave* will keep only the most daring ravers going!

ive been involved in two or three major genres that are very different from each other, says vaughn robert squire from canada, better known as prison garde, who is making his true romance debut with our trep009. about his melody ep, he says: its gospel-influenced house stuff. its in line with the last couple records that i put out, but i feel like its a little more mature and that the quality of the recording is a lot higher than anything else ive done as prison garde. i recorded it at the phi centre in montreal - its a beautiful cultural center in the old port. ango and i locked ourselves in there and did a live record on an ssl in a big room.

meeting up in australia after time spent in europe and north america, old friends and collaborators angus gruzman (dreems) and jono ma (jagwar ma) teamed up in sydney and celebrated their personal climate change with a cover of the moffs 80s cult classic. equal parts of each artist shimmer in this visceral version of *another day in the sun*. a love letter to the end of the summer, also featuring the vocals of gabriel winterfield (jagwar ma), the song takes sonic cues from their surroundings on the australian east coast.

detroit house mentor and pioneer blake baxter (underground resistance, tresor) and systematic head marc romboy are teaming up fort he already eighth time in order to present us their defintion of real techno music. follow the sound ist he message this time which means wes hall go with the flow when the beat hits our mind. version 1 comes along in a typical rough way, whereas the second version represents the very deep and old school house shades of their works.

a sort of cabaret voltaire for the iphone age, drooids are a collective of three multimedia artists who produce electronic music using improvisational, often anarchic methods. utilizing a hodgepodge of gear both old and new, and not-wholly-quantized, they create a collage of sounds that verges on chaos before slipping back into a dark yet weirdly club-oriented beat. their live shows usually feature multiple guest collaborators, costumes, sculptural props and performative antics. for their debut release on lse we tried to capture the spirit of these shows and recorded over 11 hours of drooids improvising in the studio of the course of one week. those 11 sprawling hours then got edited down to these 4 snapshots, mastered and pressed in a limited edition of 200 (40 with original gelatin silver prints) for our 6th vinyl release.

new zealand based crate digger frank booker invites good friend julien dyne to drop the second release on his new imprint down in the basement. jd picks up where the man called booker left off on vol 1 and gets straight up to speed cutting up rare boogie, disco and afro jams and employing his trademark raw cuts in an old school style, while lacing oodles of fx n stuff into the mix. the overall sound is reminiscent of the early idjut boys material, which is so close to mr booker s heart.
